about
A gentle and reflective acoustic guitar singer/songwriter song about accepting and surrendering to difficulties in order to defeat them. Combining solo classical guitar technique with a natural and almost speech-like singing voice, Freezing Land is a deeply honest and introspective contemplation of the power of letting go of control. Featured in episode 4 of Song Chamber.
lyrics
When I was trapped
in the freezing land,
and moving on
I just couldn’t stand,
I cut myself open
and looked inside.
I saw that freezing
was really alright.
Mostly it's hard,
but once it was fine.
For once in my life
I had a clear mind.
I remember it now,
but I don’t feel it like then,
how when worst comes to worst
just welcome it in.
When my tears
created a flood,
I couldn’t hear
anyone’s love.
It washed me away.
And where did it go?
That torrent of tears
fed a garden to grow.
When I was blazed
by the fiery trenches,
my will made it’s way
for ill intensions,
and I just let my body fall
into the flames.
I saw that sorrows and joys
are one in the same.
When I was buried
alive by pain;
deeper and deeper
under burden and shame,
and I finally stopped
trying to scream and shout,
then, only then,
I saw the way out.
